The Brooklyner Group, which includes The Brooklyner Web and The Brooklyner Literary, was founded by Ames John Gigounas in 2011, to exhibit new narrative.

Books and magazines are changing. Reading is changing. The Brooklyner Group believes that the relevant power of social networking is its rhythm of descriptions and accounts which form the basis of storytelling. We want to be part of those cadences, inclusive of technology, inspired by the pervasive appetite for narrative.

The Brooklyner Web is a team of collaborators with diverse experience – writers, editors, actors, filmmakers, artists – inviting creatives to present stories with whatever they’ve got. We call it mediatelling. Imagine a narrative and use a computer, a camera, a smartphone, a microphone, to aptly communicate that story.

The Brooklyner Literary is a quarterly subscription journal that can be delivered electronically or in print, established to preserve passionate storytelling. We’re interested in the blunt integrity and lyricism of compelling language that is innovative; authentic. We like realist fiction, absurdity and a hard edge. We like music. We’ll consider a broad scope of work, from essays pertaining to Qubit field theory to a rant about your mom.
